Next Stock Market Game
The Next Stock Market Game was the first project I did using PubNub. It was a stock market simulator game played within the context of a course for a business school for children. They would play this game together across the network with their own computer browsers, while we maintained a central server that simulated the stock market movements with daily news updates and simulated events.
The system was made with CakePHP and R, and it was my first experience of hosting it on the Cloud with PHPFog and AWS. It was a collaboration with a game design consultant, a quant, and the business school.
