The new mass media

AI-mediated information and public knowledge

Status: developing stub. This note began with generative-AI assistance and has been reviewed and changed by me to establish the question in the connectome. It is a starting point, not a finished argument.

AI is becoming a new mass media: not just another channel carrying information, but a layer that helps produce, select, summarise, interpret, and repeat it. What people encounter may shift with a prompt, a model, its sources, and the policies around it. The result can feel authoritative even while its provenance is difficult to see.

That makes review, traceable context, correction, and constructive discussion more important. On this site I use AI agents in the making process, then take responsibility for changing and publishing the result. The connectome is partly designed for agents too: small pages, explicit relationships, stable addresses, and distinctions between evidence, interpretation, current interests, and incomplete stubs.

The ambition is for this site to become a definitive public resource for Reza Rosli without pretending that “definitive” means final or infallible. It means maintaining a clear, situated, correctable account as the practice and the information environment continue to change.
